Paul Kornacker: "Art Dunes"
In the warm afternoon light I was enchanted by the captivating sight of these sand dunes at the fringe of the Namib desert, the oldest desert in the world. The gold-coloured, soft dunes with their wind-shaped lines glowed in an interplay of light and shade. Their smooth shapes hinted at their fragility and need for protection. This view of the desert includes all my favourite stylistic devices of image composition that I merge to a compositional whole if light conditions are right. I was especially delighted that an image form the category “Nature’s Studio” was chosen as the overall winner.
