The competition

EUROPEAN WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR 2025

is now closed for entries.

Thank you to all who have taken part this year.

The German Society for Nature Photography invites all amateur and professional photographers from all over Europe to take part in the
EUROPEAN WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR competition.

The closing date for entries was 1 March 2025.

The European Wildlife Photographer of the Year celebrates a milestone this year: 25 years of showcasing the diversity, innovation, and emotional power of contemporary nature photography. Your images can help celebrate the beauty of nature while raising awareness of pressing environmental issues! Submit your photographs by March 1, 2025, and impress a distinguished jury of international experts from photography and journalism.

To mark this special anniversary, photographers can submit up to 25 images (instead of 20) in categories 1–8, bringing the total number of possible submissions to 40! The winning images will go on tour as part of an exhibition following the awards ceremony at the International Nature Photography Festival (October 24–26) and will be showcased across Germany and Europe for three years. Cash and material prizes worth over 43,500 EUR will be awarded.
